INTRODUCTION
My name is Teyana Adams, and I am a passionate educator dedicated to
making a positive impact on the lives of my students. Born in Dayton,
Ohio, I was raised by my loving mother, who instilled in me the values
of hard work and perseverance. Coming from a background of poverty and overcoming domestic violence, I understand the challenges that many face , and I am driven to be a source of inspiration and empowerment. As a first-generation college graduate, I believe education is the way to break the cycle of adversity. With a bachelor’s degree in
Water Resource Management from Central State University and a
background in vocal arts from Stivers School for the Arts, I have
honed my skills and knowledge to become a well-rounded educator. I am
also, a world traveler, having taught in China and built friendships
across the globe. My journey taught me the importance of
embracing diversity and fostering a global perspective. With a
deep-rooted passion for teaching and helping others, I strive to guide
everyone around me toward success, not only academically but also in
life.
With violence at an all-time high globally and the consequences of war being seen worldwide, it is more important than ever to unite and strive for peace and harmony. We have allowed violence to become normalized in today’s society when there is nothing ordinary about the suffering of our fellow Americans and fellow human beings. War and violence inflict immeasurable suffering upon individuals,
families, and entire communities. Leaving wounds that may take generations to heal. Our duty as global citizens is to break this cycle of destruction and create a world where we can peacefully resolve conflicts.
Education plays a pivotal role in building a peaceful society. We must empower individuals with knowledge, critical thinking skills, and an appreciation for human rights. So we can teach the world to see beyond the surface, recognize the shared humanity in all individuals,
and seek common ground even amidst differences.
I envision a world where weapons are replaced by open dialogue, compassion triumphs over hostility, and the pursuit of peace guides our actions. Our shared responsibility is to build a world that cherishes the sanctity of life, embraces diversity, and thrives
on the foundations of peace, justice, and equality.
